Rootdrinker Institute will send a copy of the poem packet
FROM BUFFALO OUT to any reader of this blog who sends a post card to Rootdrinker Institute, P.O. Box 522, Delmar, NY 12054 and requests one. (Include an address obviously) The packet contains five pages each of poetry from Michael Boughn, Alan Casline, Hoa Nguyen, John Roche and Kenneth Warren. You can see there is a mix of methods required for getting a copy of the packet. You must move from electronic to a physical means of communicating. The packet was designed as an experiment in association. The five poets had agreed to appear together on a panel at the Vancouver, B.C. Charles Olson Centenary Conference but did not know each other well or at all. Their topic referenced A Curriculum of the Soul, a multiple authored project where issues of association created questions and complications for the poets involved. The FROM BUFFALO OUT experiment allowed the five poets to experience emotions and relational energy related to work, association and friendship. It was "everybody in" at a very early stage and the poets shared a panel and successful conference.

A DIFFERENT EXPERIMENT involves making the packet available. Like many blogs, there are large numbers of readers following this one. I have never found selling books through making them known on my web site or blog to have any result. So on to this experiment. Can readers of this blog make the transition and send an interesting post card for a quality poem packet? Who among them can make the shift from blog to written word? They must be mostly poets and readers of poetry, will they act?
